Neve - Silver Skates #3

Neve (Silver Skates, #3)Neve by Helen Scott
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What happens when a spoiled party girl heiress gets sent to a small town to turn around the local newspaper her father owns?

Well, this is Silver Springs where just about anything can happen!

A trip to the Silver Skates rink - of course - sets Neve off on a journey where she discovers that her life isn't what she thought. By the end of the book, the little rich girl has turned into a loving and lovable woman, with multiple mates, all of whom support her.

And props go to the creation of one of the most awful people I've ever read about, and who only appears in a few small, but significant scenes, Neve's father. To create such a loathsome creature in so few words takes skill!

Ember - Silver Skates #2

Ember (Silver Skates #2)Ember by Hanleigh Bradley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The second book in the Silver Skates series sees Ember return to the town she grew up in, following the opening of the new rink. After all, a non-melting rink, is just what a fire kitsune needs, especially when she's training for the world championships!

Three hunky brewers provide a distraction, thanks to the town's regular magic! Will Ember manage to fall in love, and win the trophy?

This story is hot, and sweet at the same time! I loved the characters, and would love to see more of Garrick, Ember's witchy manager/trainer, too!

Wynter - Silver Skates #1

Wynter (Silver Skates, #1)Wynter by Mia Harlan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

We're back in Silver Springs for season 3, Silver Skates. This time, the focus is on the newly opened ice rink in town

As ever, Julian's spells have gone awry and are prompting fated mates to come together. In this case, it's Zoe Wynter, who works from the Cleanly Den company.

We have hot mates, a mystery to solve, lots of cameos from previous books and those to come and more than a little magic!

I love this world and I'm so glad we're back here!

The Ruby Fortress - Carrie Whitethorn

The Ruby Fortress (Kingdoms of Oz, #1)The Ruby Fortress by Carrie Whitethorne
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I grew up loving The Wizard of Oz movie, so I love finding adult twists on it!

Ellana is the great grand-daughter of Dorothy Gale, who has grown up hearing about Oz as a fairy tale. She's whisked off to Oz at the behest of Glinda, where she finds she has inherited Dorothy's powers, and is needed to help straighten out situation in the land.

No one is quite what they seem, and everything you thought you knew about Oz is wrong! This is a great first book in the series, with 2 more to follow!

Seduced by Santa - Mina Carter

Seduced by Santa (Paranormal Protection Agency, #3)Seduced by Santa by Mina Carter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a quick, fun read.

Rod is a Christmas elf who hates Christmas, Candy is a former socialite who has fallen out with her family, and now runs a community centre. Both of them are in need of some Christmas cheer!

If you've ever wondered just how Santa delivers to the whole world in one night, this has a good suggestion, too!

2020 in review

Looking back

I started this blog in August, mostly to keep my book reviews away from my main blog, and limit the chances of my mum finding them - not a conversation I want to have with her!

Since then, I've posted 21 reviews.  That's not all the books I read in that time, but it's all the once I reviewed.

Despite a few book slumps during the year, I completed my Good Reads challenge of 85 books read.

Looking Forward

Book resolutions for 2021include reviewing more of what I read,  My GR target for this year is 100 books, and I think it should be doable.

I want to revisit some old friends as well as new books, so look for some series overviews popping up.

Silver Springs season 3 starts this month, this time centred round the local ice rink, and I'm really looking forward to that.

I want to post more on my bookstagram, @moza_reads and I need to see if there's a widget I can use to post the feed on here, same with my currently reading on Good Reads.

Here's to a well read 2021!

Bearing the Curse - Crystal North

Bearing the Curse (Not So Evil, #10)Bearing the Curse by Crystal North
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a reverse harem fairy tale with a twist.

Isla is adopted by the Mor'du family, bear shifters who rule Scotland, and is destined to grow up and share the hearts of all 4 sons. But what happens when one of them doesn't want to share?

This was an interesting twist, as most other RH books, everyone appears to be pretty happy with the set up -or at least accepting. Here, one of them wants the girl all to himself, and will do whatever it takes to get his way.

There's definitely intrigue and twists and turns along the way.

Fun book to start the year off!
