This is a fantastic start to a new series.

If you read the Once Upon a Fairy Tale Night: A Collection of Retellings anthology last year, you may recognise Mercy from the prequel story there. She also appears in the God Fire Academy series. Now it's time for her to step into the spotlight.

We have a feisty heroine, who knows what she wants and will do what it takes. Three stubborn alphas who refuse to admit how they feel in order to protect the woman they love, and a big mystery that surrounds all of them. Oh, and a killer cliffhanger!

I really enjoyed this. I felt for Mercy, and wanted to shake the MCs - there's ways to protect her, but give her a choice!

I'm really looking forward to seeing where this goes!

Eirwen is an elven princess, fleeing her homeland and arrives in Silver Springs, thanks to an advert for the Magical Rooster. Yes, *that* Magical Rooster! She's looking to throw off the expectations of her station, and set out on her own.

She has a wonderful mix of innocence and strength, finds an interesting collection of mates and demonstrates personal strength to stay in Silver Springs.

Although it's a stand alone book, I'd love to see some further adventures of this harem!

This was something a little different. Every so many years, the king and queen of Hell are reincarnated, along with Archangel Michael, leaving Gabriel behind. They have no memories of their Underworldly lives, but are living a blissful life in a Stepford suburbia.

It alternates between a mystery, trying to figure out why they haven't returned to Hell and slapstick as Gabriel tries to return them.

It ends on a cliffhanger, and I'm looking forward to the next one.

But. we're in Silver Springs, and it's Eva Delaney writing. You just know chaos is coming!

This is a fun romp, with enjoyable characters, imaginative insults and the cutest little zombies!

Destined to Run - A Shifting Society #2

This is the first book I've read in this shared universe and I'm looking forward to finding out more. Set in a world that is like ours, but very different, privileged humans live in the cities, while shifters are hunted and have been forces into the outer areas.

Rin is the daughter of one of the high-standing businessmen in the city, who wants to marry her off to boost his fortune. Rin has other ideas, and escapes with the help of an injured shifter.

The characters are fun and interesting, and the world created is intriguing. Great introduction to the world.

Normally my taste in books runs to the lighter, fluffier side, so this gothic romance was something a bit different, but definitely worth stepping out of my comfort zone!

The plot is delightfully twisty, and several points had me wondering just what was going on! It's also interesting that the changing POVs include not just the main character and her men, but also a couple of significant secondary characters as well.

This is the first of a trilogy, and ends on a cliffhanger, which definitely left me looking forward to the next one!

The latest Silver Skates book is sweet and funny.

Kari is a demi goddess, and is in town house sitting for her friend, Willow, who we met in the Spell Library series. The spelled skates go a little bit strange and cause her to teleport into a couple of odd situations, running into her mates along the way. She has to figure out who's behind it, why and how to reunite with all her men.

Overall, this was a fun read, with warm, funny characters and situations, and I hope we get more from this particular thread of Silver Springs in future series.

Rune was rejected and abused by her fated mate. Once she manages to escape, she finds herself in a small town where nothing is quite what it seems.

Heads up warning, this is part of a series and ends on a cliffhanger! It also leaves more questions than it answers, along with a few things that may not seem to make sense at first glance, but really these just leave me wanting to read the next book!

The world building is great, and allows us to discover what's going on as Rune does, and the characters inhabiting it are interesting, with just enough info about their backstories to flesh them out without spoon feeding us.

Overall, this is a great start, and I'm looking forward to seeing where it goes next!
