Omega Outcast - Claiming Her Alphas #1

Omega Outcast (Claiming Her Alphas, #1)Omega Outcast by Romy Lockhart
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Interesting twist on the trope

This was an interesting take on the fated mates trope. A girl who doesn't know she's a shifter and 4 alpha mates, but let's just say not all of them are up for the idea!

The characters are all well written and work well together. The mystery of Sloane's past is well set up for future books, and as ever, there's a cliff-hanger leaving you begging for the next book!

Moonlit Jade - Moonlit Falls #4

Moonlit Jade (Moonlit Falls, #4)Moonlit Jade by Elle Lee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Welcome to Moonlit Falls

This is a sweet and funny book, with an accident prone heroine and her 3 alpha mates.

I'm loving the new world of Moonlit Falls, and Jade is a great addition, as well as lining back to characters we've already met, and introducing new ones, like Jade's best friend Citrine. I'd also love to see a follow on book including Mark, her roommate!

Murder and Other Mayhem - The Real Death Adventures of Lorelai Byrne #2

Murder and Other Mayhem (The Real-Death Adventures of Lorelai Byrne, #2)Murder and Other Mayhem by Sterling Thomas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Solid second part of the story

This picks up where the first book left off, and Lorelai is trying to balance her new relationships with her mates, her new powers, the hunt for the Shadowhole, and the welcome return of a face from her past.

Lorelai is a great heroine, and you can empathise with her dilemmas and reactions. The villain is suitable creepy and ominous.

The cliffhanger sets an ominous tone for the next book - I know how I hope they resolve it, but we'll need to wait and see!

Dark Legacy - Kingdom of Blood #2

Dark Legacy: A Reverse Harem Vampire Romance (Kingdom of Blood Book 2)Dark Legacy: A Reverse Harem Vampire Romance by Callie Rose
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Change from the inside

So, we pick up exactly where the first book ended, with the newly turned Mikka trying to come to terms with what's happened to her. I loved her attitude that if she couldn't succeed the way she'd originally planned, well, let's try something else. There's plenty of steam with each of the guys, and an action packed climax to set up the next book. Can't wait to see how things turn out!

Forbidden Warlock - Forbidden Hybrids #1

Forbidden Warlock (Forbidden Hybrids #1)Forbidden Warlock by Jenn D. Young
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Fun read

This was a fun, quick read. In fact, if I have one complaint, it's that it's too short! The characters are fun, and all seem to accept what's happening with very little conflict - and even the conflict that is there is easily resolved. There's a HEA for the main characters of this book, and a good set up for who I assume will be the main characters of the next.

Moonlit Garnet - Moonlit Falls #3

Moonlit Garnet (Moonlit Falls, #3)Moonlit Garnet by Rachelle Bonifay
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Loving this new town

Our latest trip to Moonlit Falls introduces Garnet, an otter shifter and her mates. Everything seems to be going well - or mostly. Drink coffee, meet mates and after a minor blip with one being unaware of supes, they all get together happily. There's got to be something goes wrong! The past comes back to haunt not one, but two of Garnet's mates, and changes everything! I love these characters, and there's plenty of scene setting as well for the future!

Death and Other Calamities - The Real-Death Adventures of Lorelai Byrne #1

Death and Other Calamities (The Real-Death Adventures of Lorelai Byrne, #1)Death and Other Calamities by Sterling Thomas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a fun read!

Lorelei is ready for a fresh start in life, but it comes in a way she didn't expect!

Lorelei is a fantastic character - you can empathise with what she's going through, the highs and the lows, and she is an incredibly strong person even with her vulnerabilities. Her harem are all tough and overprotective, but well written distinct characters, even the twins, and they are well linked to both her before and after.

Although the book finishes on a cliffhanger, it's an "Oooh, what's going to happen next?" rather than "Noooo, I need the next book NOW, how can the author do this to me!"

One of the best books I've read in a while!

Destined to Strike - A Shifting Society #4

Destined to Strike (A Shifting Society, #4)Destined to Strike by J. Kearston
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Fantastic world building

I love the universe that J Kearston and Sterling Thomas have created with their Shifting Society books. As well as focussing on the relationships, the world building is fantastic. Each book can be read stand alone, but it's worth reading all of them for the bigger picture! The characters in this book are interesting, and a good mix. Two mages, 2 shifters and 4 very different personalities! It also pushes the world storyline forward a lot, and I'm looking forward to future books for that as much as the romance!

Moonlit Nephrite - Moonlit Falls #1

Moonlit Nephrite (Moonlit Falls, #1)Moonlit Nephrite by Eva Delaney
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

OK, who let MIa Harlan and Eva Delaney co-write a book!?

I love Silver Springs, and I love both Mia and Eva's books, so when I heard they were writing the first book in the new Moon Dust Library spin off, I knew it would be good. Moonlit Falls is another warded town which, like Silver Springs, allows the supes that live there to be themselves. It's also about to be home to the second branch of Jewels Cafe, and its speciality Pumpkin Spice Latte. The new cafe owner, Nephrite, is getting ready for opening day, and discovers her 4 mates. All of them are funny, but I'm certain only these two authors could have come up with August and Rob! The rest of the series is written by new authors, and I can't wait to see what happens in Moonlit Falls!

Queen of Midnight - Court of Lies #3

Queen of Midnight (Court of Lies #3)Queen of Midnight by Olivia Hart
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What a way to end the series!

I'm not sure what to say that won't include spoilers! This book has a lot of twists, plenty of action and a happy ever after. I loved it. As a first series from a new author, the whole thing was fantastic. I'll be keeping an eye out for Olivia Hart in future!

Lotus - Spell Library #13

Lotus (Spell Library #20)Lotus by Nikki Jacks
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Great addition to the series, by a new author

I love the Silver Springs Universe, not going to lie, so when I heard that we were getting an extra book for the Spell Library series, I couldn't wait to read it. Lotus is a great addition to the series, and a fantastic first novel from Nikki Jacks. The characters are fun, relatable and infuriating (in a good way!) at the same time. The story moves at a great pace, with laughs and just enough steam. And while these characters get their happy ever after, there's a few more I want to learn more about!

Heir of Gold - Court of Lies #2

Heir of Gold (Court of Lies #2)Heir of Gold by Olivia Hart
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fantastic and action packed

So, in book 1, we were introduced to the characters and the two courts. And it ended with the reveal of just who the Light Queen was. This book picks up right where we left off, and we delve deeper into the characters, their histories, and their motivations. By the end of the book, all the pieces are in place, and while there's no cliffhanger, it's well set up for the next book in the series.
