Fractured Remains - All That Remains #1

Fractured RemainsFractured Remains by Crystal North
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Worth the wait

Book Details

I've been waiting for this to be released since I read the preview in the Torture anthology last year, and it didn't disappoint. The subject is pretty hard going, and there are trigger warnings - Callie and the guys have been friends since school. She was abducted, tortured and abused, and the guys are contract killers who stopped at nothing to rescue her and now plan to avenge her. The plot is deeper and more twisted that you initially expect, and you're never sure who, outside the four main characters, you can really trust. There's a massive cliffhanger, and I can't wait until the next one - hopefully that won't be another year away!

Inheritance - Monarchs of Hell #3

Inheritance (Monarchs of Hell, #3)Inheritance by R.L. Caulder
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Epic finale

This picks up right where the last book left off. Ama has been whisked away by the newly awoken Lucifer, who claims she's his mate - and he doesn't want to share! Meanwhile, the loss of Ama helps the rest of her mates unite and accept each other and prepare for the battle for the kingdom ahead. As the final book, you know there will be a HEA, but the journey to get there is a blast! There's a lot of growth written in across the whole trilogy for all the characters, but it's most noticeable in this book. I loved the 2 simple, domesticated epilogues at the end, and also the news that this is going to spin off a whole new shared universe! Can't wait!

Moon Entrapped - Shifter's Curse #2

Moon Entrapped (Shifter's Curse, #2)Moon Entrapped by Devyn Sinclair
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Loved it

Book 2 picks up where book one left off. Cora has been kidnapped by her mates' enemies, who want to use her as a bargaining chip - although you can guess how fair a bargain they want! Cora's time with the enemy is tough. They are misogynistic, treating the women in the pack lower that low. We do get to learn a lot about them, and why they are they way they are. Her mates are frantically trying to figure out how to get her back, which they do in a clever way. But, you know some books, you get to the last chapter and know there's not enough book left to resolve it? This is the flip side. Cora is safe, the curse is broken, but there's still a few chapters left! You know that's not good for them!

Uranus - Solar Mates #2

Uranus (Solar Mates #2)Uranus by Eva Delaney
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is what happens when you let Eva Delaney and Jewels Arthur put their heads together! A combination between self confident characters and the most sweetly innocent ones, along with a number of raunchy jokes!

I love that all the books in this series take place over roughly the same time frame, so you see the same thing from different perspectives, often adding an extra twist to what you saw first time round.

I've enjoyed this series, the co-writes and the time frame giving it a slightly different feel from the rest of Silver Springs, while keeping us in the same world. One more to go after this!

Faraj - Eleven Wings #5

Faraj (Eleven Wings, #5)Faraj by Brittni Chenelle
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Tension is rising

The tension is rising, none of the team are sure who to trust, and the eclipse is approaching. This story alternates between Valerie and Faraj's point of view - Valerie is still trying to establish who she is and what she did, while Faraj is dealing with the fall out of the previous book. Alls the pieces are in place for the final episode!

Missing in Time

Missing in TimeMissing in Time by B.D. Brown
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Great start from a new author

This is a fantastic new book from a new author. It combines old Gods, with some of the lesser used supernaturals - who knew trolls could be so sexy! - and an original storyline. Rae is an old, forgotten Goddess in hiding, but her past is about to come back and haunt her, forcing her to resurface. It's a slow burn story, so she's only really connected with one of her ultimate partners by the end of the book, although she has met at least one other. For a new author, this is a solidly written story, and I'm looking forward to seeing where we're going with this one!

Wicked Vampire Lover - Royal Blood Saga #3

Wicked Vampire Lover (Royal Blood Saga, #3)Wicked Vampire Lover by Bella Klaus
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Favourite of the series

This is the final book in the trilogy, and for me, the best of the three. Yana and Draco have sorted out their relationship, well more or less, and are now trying to sort out everything else to allow them their happy ever after in peace. It's the last book, so you now that they'll get there in the end, but the path there is fun and action packed. At some point, I want to go back and read Mera and Valentine's story, but I'm enjoying this universe that Bella Klaus has created.

Bound to the Fae - Complete Box Set

Bound to the Fae the Complete SeriesBound to the Fae the Complete Series by J. Kearston
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Fab box set

This is a roller coaster of a story! Three friends, linked by tragedy in their past, find and follow a strange woman, who turns out to be a fae. The story follows the link between the 4 of them, and the people in both the human world and the fae world that wish them ill. The characters were great, and worked well together, and I loved learning their histories and that no one was quite what they thought. I'm glad I read this as a box set, so I didn't have to wait for the resolution of the cliffhangers!

Thorn - Eleven Wings #3

Thorn (Eleven Wings, #3)Thorn by Brittni Chenelle
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Twisty and turny in a good way!

Book 3 of this series gives us more insight into Thorn and his motivations, and also takes us for our first look at The Nether - the other realm discussed since book one that's essentially a mirror image of Lux, where our characters lie. The further we get into the series, the less black and white everything seems, there's a lot more shades of grey that leave you wondering just who's right and who's wrong.

Mercury - Solar Mates #5

Mercury (Solar Mates #5)Mercury by Allyson Lindt
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I think this might be my favourite of the Solar Mates books so far!

Other than the mate spell, it's the least reliant on the characters being supes, although they are. Basically, what happens if you have an anonymous one night stand, then discover that the guys are your new bosses?

The characters were wonderful, and the resolution was fun. As ever, there are cameos from other books popping up, and since they all take place over the dame few days around the Not A Vampire concert, it's fun to see the same scene from different points of view.

Emerging From The Dark

Emerging From The Dark (Dark Shifters Universe)Emerging From The Dark by Aspen Black
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Worth the wait

I've been looking forward to this since I read the preview in the Princess and her Alphaholes anthology, and it was worth the wait! Felicity has been brought up in a family of shifter hunters, but she doesn't belong, and escapes north to make a fresh start. What she doesn't expect to find at the shifter sanctuary she's sent to, are three hot mates. Although the book is a stand alone, it's part of a shared universe - it's not essential to have read the other books (shrouded in the Dark and Seeking Snow Falls) it helps! It has a HEA for these particular characters, but there's an overall arc in the universe with some questions still to answer, and there's a couple of characters I want to see more of their stories, too! Always a sign of a well written secondary character when you want more of them!

Shifters' Fae Captive - Stolen by Shadow Beasts #1

Shifters' Fae Captive: A Rejected Mates Reverse Harem (Stolen by Shadow Beasts Book 1)Shifters' Fae Captive: A Rejected Mates Reverse Harem by Lacey Carter Andersen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Light into shadow

This book is a follow up/spin off to the Royal Fae Academy series, this time focussing on Ann. You don't need to have read the previous series to read this one, although it's worth it! Just know that a power struggle between light and dark fae led to the death of Ann's mate, Rayne, and a battle where his sister and her mates were victorious, and Ann was captured by shadow beasts. This book picks up right as that one ends. There's a lot of character and world building here, establishing who and what this new race of supes are, and why they want Ann. She's never really had a chance to deal with her grief over Rayne, so having three strangers claim she's their mate obviously doesn't sit well! Their interactions and growing relationships are believable, as are Ann's reactions to her growing powers and what they could mean. The book is part one of a series and ends on a double cliffhanger. Looking forward to seeing where this goes.

Cielle - Eleven Wings #2

Cielle (Eleven Wings, #2)Cielle by Brittni Chenelle
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Loved it

Book 2 in this quick release series introduces Cielle's point of view, as well as Valerie's from book 1. We learn more about the characters and the mystery surrounding Valerie's disappearance the year before, There's a lot going on for such a short book. The introduction of a second POV expands what where we can go in the world and what we learn about the characters. Next up is Thorn's book, and after the revelations here, I can't wait to see what he has to say for himself!

Wicked Vampire Mate - Royal Blood Saga #2

Wicked Vampire Mate (Royal Blood Saga, #2)Wicked Vampire Mate by Bella Klaus
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Great continuation of the story

Book 2 picks up where the last one left off and takes the reader on a wonderfully twisty journey! You've got a prison break and a heist all wrapped into one book, all while Yana and Draco are trying to figure out who they, and each other, are. I'm enjoying this trilogy, it's nothing like I expected, and I can't wait to read the conclusion.

Valerie - Eleven Wings #1

Valerie (Eleven Wings, #1)Valerie by Brittni Chenelle
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Short but satisfying

So, set expectations up front, this is described as EPISODE one - it's the first of 6 short, snappy books, released over the space of 2 weeks. Think of it as your latest must watch TV show! For a short book, it packs a lot in. You've got 7 main characters along with a couple of minor ones, a new world to explore, a mystery to solve and a villain to overcome. A lot of the world building comes via Valerie, the FMC, who has lost her memories - we learn about the world as she does. Luckily the next book is out in a few days, I can't wait to see where the story goes from here!

Mars - Solar Mates #4

Mars (Solar Mates #4)Mars by Elena Gray
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a fun read, and a little different to what I expected.

Mars has been on the run since a falling out with her brother. When she visits her friend Peppermint in Silver Springs for a concert, she ends up calling for her three protectors - who body snatch passersby to get to her. And this is where it differed from my expectations. Without spoiling it, I hope, the fates of the borrowed locals was very different to what I thought it would be, in a very good way!

The characters were fun. As always, it's good to see familiar faces from previous books pop up, and there are a few here I'd love to see more of as well!

Imbalance - Monarchs of Hell #2

Imbalance (Monarchs of Hell, #2)Imbalance by R.L. Caulder
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Loving this series

While book one in the series focused on the realm of the pure bloods, book two takes us to meet the hybrids that will hopefully help overcome the uprising. There's strong character building alongside the world building - Ama has only known her mates for a matter of days, so as she gets to know them better, so do we. Naturally, things don't run smoothly, but the set up for the final book is amazing, I can't wait!

Omega Captured - Claiming her Alphas #3

Omega Captured (Claiming Her Alphas #3)Omega Captured by Romy Lockhart
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Satisfying conclusion to the series

The final book in the Claiming Her Alphas trilogy went in a completely different direction that I expected, but still gave a very satisfying conclusion. Sloane, her mates and Callan the demon have to put together a plan to deal with The Master, and fast. I really enjoyed the storyline, and they way they worked together to meet their goal. Everything is tied up nicely. I'll be keeping an eye out for future offerings from this author.
