Midlife Witch Unexpected - Cougar Creek #1

Midlife Witch Unexpected (Cougar Creek Coven #1)Midlife Witch Unexpected by Melle Amade
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Great start to a new series

I am loving the genre of Paranormal Womens Fiction - it's great finding heroines my own age! Mae is starting afresh, having inherited a house from her estranged aunt, and finding out her hubby was gay. Now she's trying to get to grips with life in a small town, where nothing is quite what it seems. This was a fun read with relatable characters, and while Mae's particular story appears resolved, at least for now, it's a fab start to a whole series set around the town with an over-reaching arc. Looking forward to seeing where this goes, following a strong start!

The Shifter Hunter - A Supernatural Midlife #2

The Shifter Hunter: A Paranormal Women's Fiction Novel (A Supernatural Midlife Book 2)The Shifter Hunter: A Paranormal Women's Fiction Novel by Lacey Carter Andersen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Short and sweet

Book 2 of this series packs a lot into a short book!

Having come out of retirement following the end of the first story, Luna and Olivia are faced with not only keeping the peace in their town, but also the reality that one of their own has betrayed them.

I'm loving this new world, it's got a very Supernatural feel to it - I could imagine this as Jodi and Donna in 10 year's time! Can't wait for the next one!

Split - Let's Play Anthology

Let's Play: A Sports Romance AnthologyLet's Play: A Sports Romance Anthology by Jennifer Miller
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

***Review for Split by TL Hamilton***

I'll be honest, this is a little different from what I normally read, but I enjoy TL Hamilton's writing, and was happy to give it a chance.

Split is a sweet short story about high school first love and sets up a further story later down the line. The characters are well written, and their actions are believable. I'm looking forward to the follow up!

Emerald Rising - Her Dark Quartet #0.5

Emerald Rising (Her Dark Quartet #0.5)Emerald Rising by Bailey Grayson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Fun prequel

I first encountered this i the Princess and her Alphaholes anthology earlier this year, and I've been looking forward to the series since then! This is the prequel story, it sets up who and what exactly Emerald is, and what the four guys are to her. It also lays the foundation for where the main story is going. I enjoyed this as a quick read, I love the interactions between the guys, and I can't wait to see where the full story takes us!

This us a prequel to a new series, introducing some characters, and setting up the story arc. Looking forward to seeing where this goes!

Silenced - Santa Catalina University #1

Silenced (Santa Catalina University, #1)Silenced by Crystal North
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Great start to a new universe

This is a quick read that starts off both a new multi-author shared universe, and a new series from Crystal North. Malia-Tarni - also called Mai-Tai or MT as nicknames - has arrived at the Santa Catalina University from the UK, with her friend, Summer. She has a troubled, abusive past but in her own words, "I’m not crazy. My parents had me tested." So far, so human. Vance, Reef, Cove and Bhodi are posing as a professor and students at the Uni, while in actual fact they're supes on a secret mission. As a first in series, there's a lot of character and world building, especially around how they all relate to each other. I'm looking forward to seeing where they go and finding out more about who and what they all are. I'm also hoping that Summer will be in one of the other SCU books, as it's already implied she's got her own harem, so I'd love to see this timeframe from her pov!

Neptune - Solar Mates #6

Neptune (Solar Mates, #6)Neptune by Hanleigh Bradley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the final Solar Mates book, and takes us full circle back to Venus and beyond, as we find out more about why she was cursed and what exactly Neptune had to do to break the curse.

After seeing exactly what Neptune went through, it puts Venus in a different light. She's a strong character, ready to do whatever it takes to save and protect those around her. Her three mates are well matched to her, and each brings something distinct to the story. Cursula - Anne Le Veil - is a wonderful villain in the mold of Cruella De Ville.

I'm sad to see the end of this series, but look forward to many more adventures in Silver Springs!
