Although it's a novella, there's plenty of character development in it, for both Tinsley and her three monsters - although their mission is to teach her about herself, she teaches them a few lessons, too! Perfect reading to escape the void between Christmas and New Year!

Society shifts

So the Shifting Society series draws to a close, living up to its name! Although all the books in this shared universe can be read stand alone, I would recommend reading at least Destined to Rise before this. After everything we've gone through in this series, I loved seeing things primarily from the point of view of one of the vampires. I really felt for Scarlett as she tried to come to terms with what had happened to her and what this would mean going forward. As a shared universe, I love the cameos and nods to other books. It's also amazing t see how much the world has shifted since the start!

A slice of Christmas fun!

This is a quick, fun Christmas read following the characters from Moonlit Diamond, and what they get up to on their first Christmas together. I love these little extra novellas that follow up on characters, and give a glimpse into what happens next. Anyone that's ever missed characters after they finish a book knows exactly what I mean! Unable to go to the Christmas ball in Moonlit Falls, Levi arranges for them to go to a different ball. Not only do we get more heat and hi jinx from our main characters, it give us a glimpse into the setting from the author's next novel.

Fantastic journey!

This picks up - literally! - where the last book ended. Tessa and her guys have arrived in Hyperborea, Dresden's home realm, where things are worse than expected. Before they can stabilise the realm, they need to figure out what's going on, and who they can trust. Tessa has changed a lot since they met her on Earth, and while she still has moments of uncertainty, is becoming more confident in what she needs to do. Her relationships with all her men are developing, as well. This book also ends with a change of location, as we arrive on El Dorado - looking forward to seeing what that holds for us!

Game changer!

I have been loving this shared universe, and this book is a real game changer for all those in the world! Evie is a researcher working on a cure for vampirism when fate decided to land her with not one but 4 mates. It's fun seeing a strong FMC who can, and does, stand up to the alpha males that think she needs protecting! Although a standalone book, the outcomes here will tie into the next book which is sadly the last of the series.

This series is a real roller coaster! Just when Rune thinks things might start going her way, something else comes up! The characters have developed a lot over the previous books, so this time round, the storyline seems to take more focus. There is a cliffhanger, but from the previous books in the series, I expected nothing less - and it may be a real gamechanger! Can't wait to see what happens next!

Wonderful chaos from Silver Springs

I read this in the Into The Dark anthology, and I'm glad to see it getting it's own release now! You know when Mia and Eva get together, you're in for chaos in the best possible way! This follows on from Violet, the first of the Spell Library books and ties up with Juniper, who owns the Magical Rooster. Violet and her mates are having issues that require Juniper's help, but of course nothing goes right and they end up against the clock to find a happy ending not just for them, but for the whole town! It's fun and chaotic and I love shared universes where you get cameos from other books popping up, it rounds everything out!

Loved it!

This book picks up in the aftermath of the attack on the guild, and the strange impact it had on Mercy. We learn a lot in this book about who and what Mercy is, and the fact that the guys have known this for a while but chose not to tell her. You can feel Mercy's frustration that they are trying to protect her, but not allowing her full knowledge to understand herself, and the guys so struggle with this as well. As for the ending, I thought we were getting a HEA, or at least HFN, right until the last page! Can't wait to see what Mercy ultimately decides and the impact it has!

Great finale!

I think this is my favourite of these three books! Picking up right where the last book left off, Cora and her guys have reversed the curse on the men, with unexpected results. Add in three opposing alphas looking to wipe them out entirely, and you get an action packed tale. Cora - and the readers - get a crash course in the history of magic in this universe, and I'd love to read further books expanding on this! All of them face a race against time to win the battles. We get a satisfying happy ending, and hopefully a new universe to explore!

The lioness turns!

This is the second Santa Catalina University books I've read and, like the first, while it's a standalone for the SCU universe, it appears to be the start of a series for this author. Camari is a lioness shifter. In this world, and these prides, the lionesses are seen as "less" - they can't shift and are meant to be just arm candy for the males. As such, they attend SCU as a finishing school of sort, learning to be perfect "stepford wives." Cami doesn't want to follow this path, nor does she want to marry the future alpha her parents have picked out for her. Three powerful alphas and a lot of intrigue later, we've got a massive cliffhanger for the next installment! This was a fun book, and I can't wait to see where we go next!

Action packed

Missed this first time round, so was happy to get a chance to catch up with the box set! Lorelie has grown up believing she is a normal human whose mother dies of cancer, and bounced around the foster system since. Once she turns 18, she starts to learn the truth! This is three books of full on action, both fighting the bad guys and in the bedroom! Plenty of twists to keep you going - I don't think I could have coped with the cliffhangers had I read the books individually. There's also a bonus novella included that follows the series, with a few easter eggs thrown in!

Great start to the series

One of the great things about anthologies is discovering new authors and books - and I've been waiting to read this for months, after reading the preview in the Princess and her Alphaholes collection! In the intro, we meet Primrose, who has been promised as mate to the neighbouring alpha, but runs away when she finds out his hidden secret. The story then picks up a few years later, when her past starts to come back to haunt her, along with the discovery of her future! Primrose/Poppy is stronger than she realises after all she's been through, and her mates are the right balance between dominant and empathetic. Her found family are also fantastic, and I hope Ava gets a story, or at least a HEA along the way! There is something of a cliffhanger, but it's more a set up than sudden peril. I'm looking forward to more of their story!
